Travelling in Economy to Africa

Travelling in Economy to Africa

1. Harald New Member

Hi all,

Based in Northern Europe and starting to plan a trip to Africa next summer. As a student, economy is all I can afford and it is not easy to find good economy class reviews. Realistically I can choose between the following:
– Lufthansa A330
– Ethiopian 787
– Ethiopian A350
– Brussels A330
– Emirates 777 + 777
– Qatar 787 + A320
– Turkish A321 + 737
– KLM A330

My question is therefore; what do you guys know about the following airlines? Personally I’ve only traveled with Turkish before, and even though I really like their product, I would prefer a wide-body. If anyone knows about any good blogs for economy class reviews that would be appreciated too!

Personally, I’d probably go for any 787 or A350 as the first choice since it’s less seats across so it’ll be a bit roomier. Also, newer planes, newer tech billed as making it easier on the body. Or see if you can get on an A380 with economy on the upper deck (i think LH and AF do this) – its roomier up there and the window seats have extra storage space.

From your airlines, they’re all going to be similar in economy. I’d probably pic the one that’s most convenient for your schedule and cheap. http://economyclassandbeyond.boardingarea.com/ has some econ reviews, and you can also check flyertalk.

Thanks David! It doesn’t look like I’ll be able to try the A380 on this trip, but out of the A350 and 787, who would you say are the best in term of quietness and overall comfort?

I havent flown on the A350 yet but I found the 787 perfectly comfortable and very quiet.
