Which card for 2.5k spend?
Hi collective hive mind,
Here’s my situation…
I made a pretty stupid error in my taxes two years ago.
Now I owe my state $2500.
I noticed that I can pay it via credit card with a 2.5% surcharge.
I can pay off the full amount but thought of this as a way to jump on to another credit card to get a welcome bonus offer.
My preferred airlines, based on my home airport, are Delta, JetBlue, SouthWest, and American. I already have a Delta Platinum card, so of those remaining, which one would you choose for an initial spend that is no more that $3k?
Thanks,
BJ
Forgetting preferred airlines, what points do you have at present, and what are your travel goals?
Hi Tiffany,
Right now, my goal is to get as many airlines miles that will benefit me out of my home airport (ALB) so that I have options to free flights.
I will consider some hotel cards, but find that I don’t like to be tied down to a brand of hotels (I guess I like B&Bs and other “alternative” lodgings as options still).
FYI, I’ve got CSP and AMEX Platinum as well.
Thanks for helping me clarify my post to get better answers. Hope this info helps.
