Use Amex Plat or Saph Reserve…

    Hi Guy,

I’m planning a small Tgivings trip from california to Fairbanks, Alaska for me and my girlfriend to see the aurora borealis and can’t decide what CC to use(first world problems)

The Amex gives 5% on flights will give me about 7k pts with no travel protection

The Reserve gives 3% and will give me about 4250pts but with 6hr delay protection of $500.

What are your thoughts on which one I should pick?
November is the beginning of the rain season in norcal so im abit worried about what the rain could do to the entire westcoast.

    Suggestions please =)

You could always pay with the AMEX and buy travel insurance separately. It’s relatively inexpensive.

Lucky values both MR and UR points at 1.7 cents/point. Based on that, the difference in points earned is about $46. Also – would you rather have more UR points or MR points?

any idea on how much it would cost?

Im a bit low on MR~70k, have about UR~180k.

    thanks!
