US Airways credit card $99 companion pass. Any catches?

Hey Ben, I just picked up probably one of the last US Airway cards and noticed that it comes with a $99 companion pass. I’ve never heard you mention this benefit as part of the selling point of this card. I did noticed that it’s only valid on economy tickets in the 48 states and Canada but do you have to book a ridiculously high fare for these passes to work to negate any actual savings? Can you share some insight as to how to maximize this companion pass?

@ Luis — Nope, it’s actually fairly straightforward/valuable. Should work on almost all fares. Quite a nice perk!
