To Cancel, or Not to Cancel

To Cancel, or Not to Cancel

I am considering signing up for a few different cards over the next 6 months or so, mainly for the signup bonus, not the long-term benefits. Some of these cards have annual fees, including some that are close to $500 per year. How does it impact your credit score to open and then close a card before the second year closes out? Is it foolish to consider this?

@Nadroj, what you are considering is very common (I assume you mean cancel before your second year starts, not second year closes out). It is not foolish at all. Maybe this post will help: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/credit-cards-credit-scores/
