Hey Lucky, big fan of the blog! Was hoping to get your advice as to the best option for a small business credit card.

I run a small firm mainly consisting of myself, two sales/design guys, and our admin. We have occasional purchases of office supplies, but as my guys are generally on the road those are pretty limited.

Our biggest expenses are payments to our various vendors. About half of them accept credit cards, but I don’t think any would fall into a bonus category. I currently use the Business Green card from Amex, but the card doesn’t seem to be as rewarding as some of the others you talk about.

So what would you recommend as the best card? I’ve been considering the Amex Platinum, as it would be nice to offer my guys lounge access when they travel, but I’m not sure if the high fees are worth it compared to the other options?

what are the merchant codes on those vendors?

The business gold from AMEX is great, you get 3x on 1 of 5 categories and 2x on the other 4. I spend a lot on gas and online marketing, so I pick the 3x for gas and 2x for other. Whats cool is that I get 2x on PO purchases and lots of other things.

The SPG AMEX is probably my best for non bonus spend
