Should I downgrade my Costco membership for a new Amex?

Should I downgrade my Costco membership for a new Amex?

    Hi Lucky,

I have the Costco Amex, Delta Platinum Amex, and Hilton HHonors Reserve Card.

With the Costco Citi deal coming in June, should I downgrade my Costco membership from executive to “regular” and seek out a transfer to a new card from Amex, perhaps the SPG?

Or should I maintain the new Citi Cotsco Visa, but use the Hilton HHonors card at Costco after the deal is done?

@EyesOnTheSky I’m not familiar with the costco cards that will be issued. If it is a no fee visa then I’d just keep it open because it’ll help your credit score. I wouldn’t “transfer” anything. If you are interested in the SPG I would certainly apply now as a fresh application. Usually product changes do not make you eligible for sign up bonuses.

The reserve would earn 3 HH points so I’d taken Ben’s suggestion and get the Chase Freedom unlimited for 1.5 UR for your spend.
