Replacing SPG Amex with another card?

Replacing SPG Amex with another card?

  1. Anonymous Guest

I do not stay often at SPGs but I had the card for my occasional stays. I recently got the sapphire reserve and do not see using this card anymore, but it is my only current Amex. Thoughts on switching this to a different Amex, preferably one without an annual fee?

Not sure if you can switch to a different card since youre moving from SPG to Amex MR but I’d suggest the Everyday card so you can earn transferable MR points and get a bonus when you make more than 20 transactions per month. However, you’d lose out on the current new card bonus if you do a product change. Have you asked about getting the annual fee waived when it posts?

I would probably also look at one of the Everyday cards, but agree about applying for the card to get the bonus and later merging the credit lines.

The Delta cards also have that fantastic bonus right now, so I’d consider those too, though they’re certainly not great for everyday spend.
