Planned on Flight from Omaha to New York every week for 8 months

    Dear Ben,

Thanks again for helping everyone out.

I have just started my master program in NYC. I am living in Omaha, NE now. I planned to fly every weekend to NYC from end of Aug 2018 until May 2019.

Do you have any suggestions which airline credit card should I use?

    Best,

    Harry

LaGuardia is the closest airport to the city and Delta flies there direct from Omaha. United flies direct to Newark. Neither have especially decent or fast options to get to the city.

If you go with Delta, they have a nice selection of cards via their partnership with Amex, which will also give you some perks. Additionally, Amex’s MR card products are great as well. I’d give Delta the slight edge here if you get the Amex Platinum Card, as you’d be able to access their SkyClubs before each flight (and the Amex Centurion Lounge at LGA, though it’s before security).

If you go with United, go with their card (at least in the beginning for priority boarding and free checked bags) and Chase’s UR card products. I’d put most of the spend on Chase’s cards for more flexible rewards.

Personally, if I was in your shoes, I’d probably go with Delta.
