Hi Lucky, Tiffany, et al! Long time reader here, first time poster. Had a quick question (and to anyone in the forum who might have some insider info). About to book iberia business class round trip JFK-MAD for a May honeymoon. Planning on transferring UR points into BA, then moving over to my iberia account to book (yes it is older than 90 days and active, i did a test 100 avios transfer and it worked fine).

My question is if you had any gossip/news about if there’s going to be another BA transfer bonus soon. Would hate to transfer 150k+ points only to see a bonus go live a week later.

I also have 90k MR points, so the bonus could be either for Chase or Amex. Any thoughts on this or should i just got for it? Don’t want to lose the availability for our dates. Thanks!

I think it’s something that we are all hoping for but we just don’t know. The transfer ratio is changing from AMEX MR to Avios in October so it will no longer be 1:1. If you’ve found the flight you want and it’s available I would go ahead and transfer and just be happy you got the ticket and get ready to enjoy the honeymoon.

Ok thanks guys. Yeah I remember the post about the BA ratio changing, bummer. Follow up question (though don’t know if I should start a new thread or what): do you have any way of knowing which Iberia flights have the new renovated business class? I know they’ve upgraded to these new gray seats and IFE with bigger screens on their A330s, but the flights JFK-MAD are all A340. My research has turned up that when their site says A340-600, it means it will be renovated biz cabin, while A340-200 is old, unrenovated cabin. The seatmap for new seats on the A330s is 1-2-1. But the A340-600 flights I have my eyes on are 2-2-2. Is it possible that it’s still the same new seats and IFE, just more of them because A340 is wider? The flyertalk threads and other discussions online seem to have a whole bunch of opinions and hearsay, and just a lot of general frustration about how opaque Iberia is about communicating which flights have the new vs old business class. Thoughts?
