Need Organization Advice
New to the forum and looking for some advice with my particular credit card set up. I own and run my own business which uses a Delta Gold Card from American Express. The business does not have very many expenses and travel is almost exclusively booked by my clients (I can request the airline of my choice but hotels are almost exclusively Marriott). Card spending year to date is around $10K. On the personal side I also have a Delta Gold Card from American Express and a Capital One Venture for where Amex is not accepted. I put my rent and other monthly charges on the Amex cards as possible to get the MDQ waiver. Year to date card spending on the personal Amex is at $22K.
If I didn’t have to keep my business and personal spending separated (and I like the receipt match feature of the Amex business cards) I would upgrade the Delta Gold to Platinum for the MQM bonus at $25K/free bag check/ and change the CapOne to the Marriott Visa since I stay at that brand almost exclusively. But I am still at a loss as to what to use for the business as obviously I want to maximize the benefits of my bills and expenses.
Thanks in advance for thoughts and insights you all may have.
@tvTD if the MQD waiver and MQM bonuses are important to you, why not get the DL Platinum Business card? You can get the receipt matching features you like plus put all your spending together to earn the bonus features that appeal to you?
I’m debating the worth of doubling up the same annual fee which is what I’m currently doing holding the personal and business version of the Gold card. I’m not getting anything extra out of it by that approach.
Upgrading the personal Gold card to Platinum will net the biggest gains. But I don’t know how to approach the business side.
What I was suggesting was upgrading to the Business Platinum and eliminating both gold cards. Your fees would remain about the same. You can use the buisness tools to categorize and differntiate your personal and business purchases while making progress towards your MQD waivers and MQM earning. Plus, you will get the companion ticket every year which will defray the cost of the card.
Hope you find something that works for you.

Welcome
You might want to ditch that Capital One card while you are at it, just about anything would be better.
