Heya guys!

My husband and I were lucky enough to win the Lounge Buddy Grand Prize. Here is the decision we need to make:

Option 1: US$700 in LoungeBuddy credits for bookings to our partner lounges

US$700 in LoungeBuddy in-app credit. Can be utilized to make instant lounge bookings through the LoungeBuddy app at any of our partner locations worldwide. Credit valid for 18 months, and can be split with one other account.

Option 2: Up to US$700 to be applied towards a credit card annual fee

Covers the annual fee for one credit card. Does not cover dual or family memberships. Annual fee must not exceed the equivalent of US$700 in cost.

Option 3: Up to US$700 to be applied towards a lounge membership program

Covers the cost of membership in one (1) individual lounge membership (1 year) program. Does not cover dual or family memberships. Cost must not exceed the equivalent of US$700 in cost.

Option 4: US$700 contribution towards a charitable foundation of your choice

US$700 contribution towards an official nonprofit.

If you select either Option 2 or 3, you will be required to provide proof of purchase of lounge membership or payment of your credit card annual fee from the last six months. If you have yet to purchase a lounge membership or pay a credit card annual fee, you may submit an invoice within the next thirty (30) days.

One last thing: we’d love to know who your favorite travel blogger is – this can be any travel blogger, it doesn’t matter how big or small they are.

Please respond to this message as soon as possible, but in no case later than January 26th, 2016 at 11:59:59 PM EST.

We currently have an Amex Platinum, Admirals Club membership, and my husband is AA EP. We’re currently based in BUF, which is why we had the AC membership, although that lounge has since closed. We also frequently travel to LAS as that is where we’re from originally, and occasionally out of YYZ on AA or WS. Our international travel this year will all be award based in J/F, so we don’t really need to worry about access from that standpoint. Finally, AC membership is expiring tomorrow and our Amex expires in 60 days. We rarely travel DL or UA anymore. I was thinking that perhaps the Citi Prestige might be our best option, although it does not make full use of the possible budget. We are also eligible for the JP Morgan Palladium, but it isn’t that great of a card.

Any suggestions? Deadline is soon!

First off, congratulations! That’s a very cool prize. I think the Citi Prestige would make the most sense as that will get you Priority Pass access as well as essentially renew your Admiral’s Club access.

Even though that does not completely maximize the prize budget, I’d recommend reaching out and seeing if they would allow you to donate the difference to the charity of your choosing (basically using pieces of option 2 and option 4). While I doubt they would allow you to combine any other options, I’d say it wouldn’t hurt to ask if you could use $450 of the $700 bonus towards Citi Prestige, and make a charitable donation to a local Buffalo organization of $250.

That’s my two cents, but congrats either way!

Fantastic idea! We have a few charities in mind. I’m sorry I made it a foregone conclusion we would do Option 1-3, and really Option 2 or 3.

I like your choice, I would agree to do that
