Earning miles same month as credit card cancelation

Earning miles same month as credit card cancelation

  1. Anonymous Guest

I’m a relatively seasoned churner and I generally know how points and miles work with credit card cancelations. I’m in a new situation, however:

I am going to cancel my BA Visa next month after my annual fee hits, but I will also have a balance to pay since I needed to hit $15k for the year for 25k bonus Avios. Once I pay my balance and see the bonus miles post, can I call to cancel (unless they waive the AF) and still keep those bonus miles? I assume the answer is yes, but I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this.

That should be fine – I’d just wait until the Avios actually post to your BA EC account before calling to cancel the card.
