CSR/CSP & Amex Plat

CSR/CSP & Amex Plat

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi Lucky,

I currently have about 10 credit cards, although the ones I use most frequently are the Amex Gold, CSR, and Chase Freedom. With the most recent Amex Gold changes, I value the Amex Gold a lot more. I want to pick up the Amex Plat, but I can’t see myself paying for $1,000 for two ultra premium cards.

Would you see it worth downgrading my CSR to CSP and then pick up the Amex Plat? I spend the majority of my spend on dining and some travel, and I do go internationally a bit, so that’s where the CSP can come in handy for dining globally. I could then cancel my Hilton Ascend card as well since I would get Gold with the Plat. I could also pick up the Freedom Unlimited so I can get 1.5x back on everyday purchases.

What are your thoughts? In an ideal world I would keep both, but is this a smart move since I value both UR and MR points.

    Thanks,
    Omar

    Welcome!

Did you see Lucky’s post from yesterday? Not directly answering your question, but I think it covers a lot of the points
