Citi Prestige card very slow to deliver
So I applied for the Citi Prestige card back on 1/22 and didn’t get an immediate approval even though my credit score is ~800 with a healthy income. Got a message saying they are reviewing the application and will have a decision in a week. On 1/28, I get an email saying that I was approved for the card (with a much lower spending limit than all my other cards, but I digress) and that I’ll receive the card via fedex in a few days. On 2/1, I get an envelope from UPS with a letter saying that I have been approved for the card and to expect the card in a few days. Fast forward to today (2/3) and still no card.
This is really puzzling for a “premium” credit card in this age when approvals are instant and cards are overnighted via UPS or Fedex (ie. Amex plat). Even on mid tier cards, it has never taken more than a week to receive a new card.
Anyone else had similar experience with the Presitge card? I sure hope this is not an indication on how my experience is going to be with any issues I may have with this card in the future. So far, not a great first impression.
It’s a little unusual. I would call and request an expedite if you need it quickly. I’ve found Citi customer service much improved, especially for their upper tier cards.
@Luis — you mentioned an unexpectedly low credit limit with the card. I recently procured a Citibank card but the credit limit was low as well. I had several other Citibank issued cards, and they look at the total credit across all cards.
I eventually get the limit increased by transferring some of the credit limit from one of their cards that I was not using.

I don’t currently have any other cards issued by Citi so that wouldn’t be the case for me. I finally got my card so i called in to see if they can increase my credit limit and they said no. I just don’t get it for a supposedly premium product. Very disappointed so far.
