Chase Freedom card and reward points
Up until a month ago I paid little if any attention to the Chase family of cards. I succumbed to a Chase Sapphire Preferred card to get the 50K pt bonus the spending for which I have just satisfied. Of course right after I got the Sapphire card, Chase announced the Reserve card for which I applied and fortunately was approved. Now that I am paying more attention to managing Chase cards, I see that a preferred (pun intended) strategy will be to downgrade the Preferred card to a Freedom (Unlimited???) card which has no annual fee.
I have seen mention in this blog of being able to convert the “Freedom” points one accumulates to Ultimate Reward points from the Reserve/Preferred card but I see no official mention of that in the Chase documentation. Can someone confirm that you can take the freedom points (1.5 points per dollar spent) and convert them 1 to 1 for UR points.
Thanks
Neil
@GBOAC, the Reserve, Preferred, Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, Ink Bold, and Ink Cash all earn UR points. While they points are stored in an UR account associated with each card, they can be freely transferred between accounts.
