Chase Freedom 5x grocery/foreign transaction fee

Chase Freedom 5x grocery/foreign transaction fee

Would you guys still use your Freedom card this quarter for 5x groceries if you were currently out of the US (so foreign transaction of 3% would apply)? Do you get any points for the 3% too? Should I think of it as still getting 2x points after I subtract the 3% for the foreign transaction fee? Alternative is to use Reserve. Thanks!

You would not get points for the 3%. I’d use the Reserve, personally.
