Changes to the Barclaycard Arrival (not World Elite) travel redemption

Changes to the Barclaycard Arrival (not World Elite) travel redemption

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hello,

I am a Barclaycard Arrival holder and recently received notice of this change to the redemption terms:

    Redemption bonus changes
The bonus miles you receive when you redeem for travel statement credits will be reduced to 5% miles back. At the same time, we’ll expand the 5% miles back to ALL redemptions — including travel and cash back statement credits, gift cards and merchandise. That means, every time you redeem miles, you’ll get 5% of your miles back to use toward your next redemption (for example, redeem 20,000 miles and get 1,000 miles back).

Given that I always redeemed my miles against travel transactions for the 10% back, does this change make another card a more attractive? I am new to this area and am reviewing the best credit cards section, but I was hoping some experts my give their ‘hot take’ on this change 🙂

    Thank you

The arrival is still useful for a sign up bonus. For daily spending the Citi double cash would be better since it cash is usually more valuable than a bank specific currency.
