Hi Ben
In your link with Citi Prestige Card, see the copy below from your site:

50k bonus miles | $250 annual airline credit | Lounge access | Global Entry credit

I applied for the card, received the card, paid $450, and after the $3,000 spend, called to convert to AA miles, it seems that the points are NOT Miles but “Thank You Points”, which can only be used for
specific things from the citibank site, cannot transfer for miles.

Please revise to avoid confusion.

Hi Michael,

Apologies for any confusion! The Citi Prestige card does transfer to several airline partners, or the points can be used towards the purchase of revenue airfare, so you do have several options: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2015/07/02/how-to-redeem-citi-thankyou-points/
