Sorry if this is a no brainer or has been asked before but I’m a newbie to OMAAT. I was just accepted for AMEX Platinum with 100,000 Member points through the card match program, which is unbelievably awesome because it gets me one RT B-Class ticket from DC to Japan on ANA or 2 economy tickets after transferring to ANA but I also want to apply for the AMEX Starwood Preferred Guest Card, which would bring me really close to my goal of scoring ANA First Class RT ticket to Japan (my in-laws live there). The problem is the terms and conditions I accepted when I was approved for the Platinum Card say something to the effect that AMEX will detect if you have another card and you are only able to receive Member Points once. Does that mean once for the Platinum card or once for any personal AMEX branded card?

They mean another Platinum card. You can have up to 4 Amex credit cards (e.g. SPG, Delta, Hilton) in addition to charge cards like Platinum and Gold. With charge cards you MUST pay the full balance each month. (Of course, you know to do that anyway since paying interest offsets any rewards you earn.)

Not that stingy! Business availability is generally good, and first can be as well. If you have flexibility with your dates or routing you should be okay.
