Booking Flights Through American Express Travel

Booking Flights Through American Express Travel

Hello – I’m looking to book flights through Amex Travel to take advantage of 2x points when paying with my Platinum card. I want to book AA codeshare flights operated by British Airways. When on the checkout page, there’s isn’t an option to add a oneworld frequent flyer number – just an AA number. When booking through Amex Travel, do we receive a regular AA record locator (so I can add my oneworld frequent flyer number on the AA website)? When making changes to flights, do we have to make the change through Amex or can we call AA directly? Thank you!

@baflyer2 – you should receive a “regular” AA record locator and then be able to add your OW FF number to the reservation.

Will defer to others for your question about who to call to make changes.

@Tiffany can confirm this but my assumption would be that AmEx would handle changes as the travel agent but close in like the day of the flight you would contact the operating carrier.
