Amex Platinum companion pass
Recently read this blog post about companion paases and credit cards -http://roadwarriorvoices.com/2015/10/16/heres-how-to-get-free-or-heavily-discounted-airline-tickets-for-a-person-of-your-choice/
This benefit of amex is not often talked about, I was wondering if you could shed more light on this. Also does this benefit make Amex Platinum better than the Citi Prestige?
I don’t know the author, but I almost guarantee she’s never tried to use that benefit.
The key thing to note is that the Amex benefit is for full-fare tickets. So those ~$1200 business class tickets last week wouldn’t have qualified, but an ~$4500 ticket would. In some cases it’s sometimes still the best option (like to safari destinations in Africa), but I think most people can do better most of the time. But it’s a great benefit if you’re comfortable spending that much on travel, or have limited flexibility.
Rishabh, sounds great right? 🙂 The catch is that you have to book the tickets through the Platinum booking service and they usually only have access to the highest fare classes to be eligible for the promotion. You can find paid fares for two that would be less than the cost of the one paid ticket.
