Amex now says $50 gift cards aren’t eligible for Amex Travel Credit

Amex now says $50 gift cards aren’t eligible for Amex Travel Credit

I have Amex Gold Card and Amex Bus Platinum. In the past $50 gift cards have always been credited. In Dec I purchased 2 and they weren’t credited, and Amex now says they won’t be. Has anyone else noticed this happening?

    thanks!

Welcome @Grant Kaufman – I didn’t try it with my Amex Gold but I used my Hilton Amex and they worked. Did you buy them all on the same day or spread them out?

Which airline did you buy the gift cards from? Technically, gift cards have never been eligible for the travel credit, but usually worked. If you call Amex and explain, they’ll deny you since the T&Cs specifically exclude gift cards.
