Amex is not giving Bonus Points if you had a previous card

  1. Anonymous Guest

I just tried my annual CC churn with American Express and was told that at his time, I do not qualify for Bonus Points on any of the cards offered. In the past, I had in the both Personal and Business Platinum Cards, and the Mercedes Platinum Cards, a number of Gold Cards, both Business and Personal cards I think the most was three of each at one time. I spent about 60K annually among all the cards. Currently, I have a personal and a business Gold card.
The representative told me that the 1 year policy of not having the same product and then reapplying for that product again is longer honored.
The only Product that I could have gotten now, is the Delta 35,000 Delta Bonus Miles Platinum card.

Is this the new policy, did I get singled out for doing this to much or just a questioning customer rep.
    thanks
    mike.

Been a in place for a while, Lucky has mentioned it before.

I think it might be possible if there is a higher sign up bonus that you can get the difference between the bonus when you had the card last and the new bonus offer.

Generally true for personal cards but most business cards still have the one year policy.
