Amex Blue Cash Pref vs Everyday Pref

Amex Blue Cash Pref vs Everyday Pref

I am looking for a cash back card. As I understand it I can use the Everyday Pref card to give me statement credit. This would give me an additional 50% bonus (over 30 transactions). Are the point given as a statement credit the same value as the cash back on the Blue Cash Pref card? In other words, when used for statement credit is it 1 point per $1?

Robert, I believe the Blue Cash gives you straight cash back while the EP gives you MR points. There is a range of redemption options for them from 0.6c for straight cash back to 1c or so for gift cards. Not the ideal use for them and most people tend to save them for transfer to airline partners.

If you only want cash back you could get the blue cash for supermarkets and complement it with a Citi Double Cash that gives you 2% everywhere else that makes life easier for you.
