3 year plan for DFW to Switzerland J class

3 year plan for DFW to Switzerland J class

Hi all, I am just getting into the hobby. Currently have CSR and using the signup bonus for a trip this spring. After that, my 3-4 year plan is a family trip (4 people) in J class from DFW to Switzerland. What I can’t figure out is which alliance to target – OneWorld or Star. AA seems to have more sign-up bonuses to target, but Star seems to offer more options.

    Thoughts?

Cant go wrong with either and since you have a few years, why not try to get both so you can diversify a bit? In the event you have to split up the party, you have options. Both Oneworld and StarAlliance have decent products, though I do agree that Star has more and slightly better ones.

Like @David W said, you might want to stay somewhat flexible since finding four premium cabin award seats on a single flight is difficult depending on the airline.

I’ve never flown Swiss J but I would really like to. It seems to have pretty decent availability from ord close to the date for sometimes 4-5 passengers. In that sense I would concentrate on united miles. However if you keep them at chase you’ll have more options (eg flying blue or simialar)
