AnA or Thai?

AnA or Thai?

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi there Ben,

Love reading your reviews, and by reading your Thai First A380, Thai First 747, and ANA First Class Square reviews, which would you say is worth the one time experience for redeeming points on a flight first class?

The thought of Thai a380 is to me seems the one to go for, but ANA’s FCS just knocks Thai out of the park all the time, including the Skytrax rewards in almost every category. So what is it with ANA?

Also, will ANA’s new a380 be a *Wow* in 2019?

Cheers for those who can answer.

Thai’s FC experience for me was sub-par, except for the DOM. In fact it is the lowest FC experience out of numerous for me. Here are reports of ANA / TG back to back first class experiences. I would book TG first out of BKK to experience their lounge, but only on a short run like to HKG or maybe SYD.

(Rumor is ANA 380 will be on the Hawaii route which is primarily leisure and therefore not something to expect a premium class on.)

Thank you for your suggestions, and I have spent the last 2 hours looking at your blog too, which was interesting!

The split between ANA and Thai is tough. I collect Aeroplan points ( Air Canada Program ) which is the family of Star Alliance and saving for the next big flight to award to myself and my wife, on a one way ticket ( all ready did AC & SAA in business ).
If flying ANA, it would be from YYZ to Washington to experience ANA FCS for 14 hours. If flying Thai, it would be going back from the Asian side to YYZ on a380 and 747 via BKK due to it is incredibly a lot cheaper when paying the airport taxes by 95%.

Anyhow, ANA’s will be releasing 3 a380’s, I knew about the Tokyo to Hawaii flight already set in stone, I am curious if any North American destinations planned.

We are picky and want the best value for points!

Cheers for your insight to flights,

@JJ30 , thanks for the complement. Don’t forget about EVA. They have excellent availability and fly out of Toronto I believe as well. EVA business class is outstanding, seats are great for sleeping, service is good, food is typically good (like any other flight you can get a not so good meal.)

I had a great flight on TG’s 747. I liked the first class cabin better than the 380. But just my preference. I thought it was more private. I really don’t care for the top deck on an A380. Bad for sightseeing.

    Good luck!
