The Four Seasons Naviva, located in Punta Mita, Mexico, has just opened. Not only is this the most expensive Four Seasons property in the world, but it’s probably also the most spectacular.

Basics of Four Seasons Naviva Punta Mita

Naviva, a Four Seasons Resort, Punta Mita, has opened as of December 1, 2022. Four Seasons Punta Mita is one of the brand’s most popular resorts in North America, and that complex has expanded with the introduction of 15 luxury tents, spread across 48 acres.

Four Seasons Naviva is nestled in the forests of Riviera Nayarit, with views of the Pacific Ocean. The experience goes beyond the very cool accommodations, though, as this isn’t just some hotel rooms being added to an existing hotel.

While guests have access to standard Four Seasons Punta Mita facilities, the Naviva property also has its own amenities, like a flexible all-day dining restaurant, a pool, an outdoor gym, a spa treatment room, and more. Furthermore, this offers a much more customized experience — ahead of arrival, each Four Seasons Naviva guest is matched with a personal guide, who creates a customized itinerary for their stay.

Stays at Four Seasons Naviva include all meals, premium drinks, and one spa treatment per guest per stay. So you could quite literally stay here and not spend a dime on property.

Naviva’s 15 luxury tents are in one of two categories:

  • Tents feature 1,259 square feet of indoor & outdoor space
  • Grand Tents feature 1,604-1,722 square feet of indoor & outdoor space

As you can see based on the below pictures, even the term “luxury tents” is pushing it in terms of how much you’ll be roughing it. 😉 I’d say “tented villas” might be a more accurate descriptor.

Four Seasons Naviva rates & how to book

What are rates like at the Four Seasons Naviva? While they fluctuate, I believe entry level rates here are on average the highest of any Four Seasons property in the world.

As of now it looks like entry level “tents” at Four Seasons Naviva start at $3,950-4,250+ per night for most of the year, with the larger tents costing an extra $1,000 per night.

Four Seasons Naviva rates

If you’re going to book this hotel (or any Four Seasons), you absolutely should book through a travel advisor who is affiliated with Four Seasons Preferred Partner. With this program, eligible travel advisors can add value to your stay without it costing you extra. They can add perks like complimentary breakfast (including via in-room dining), a hotel credit, an upgrade subject to availability, and more.

Best of all, Four Seasons Preferred Partner can generally be combined with any rates you’ll find directly with Four Seasons. For what it’s worth, the upgrades through this program are also prioritized over upgrades through other programs, so you’ll want to use Preferred Partner over a program like Virtuoso or Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts. Ford is always happy to help with Preferred Partner bookings, and can be reached at [email protected].

Bottom line

Four Seasons Naviva is Four Seasons’ newest property in North America. In reality this is a property within the Four Seasons Punta Mita, but it sure offers unique accommodations and new amenities. There are 15 tents spread across 48 acres, with the hotel having its own restaurant, pool, spa, and more.

Four Seasons has a really loyal following, so I imagine there will be no issues filling up these few rooms, even with this steep pricing. And the pricing isn’t quite as steep as it appears at first, given that stays include all meals and drinks, and even one complimentary spa treatment per person per stay.

What do you make of the Four Seasons Naviva property concept?

They can charge that price because of how small and exclusive it is.

All that I can think about is the bugs........not my cup of tea.....

From the pictures, it seems that having a canvas canopy qualifies you to consider it a tent. Removing that and nothing seems to resemble a tent.

Well what do you know, I've been living in a tent all these years and didn't know it. One of my buddies live in a 5 story tent with elevators and a doorman. His tent is 2 minutes walk from a subway, sandwich and train.

I wonder if RHOBH will be heading there next season. Seems like they go to Punta Mita every year. You would think with all those money, they can go somewhere more exciting like the Laucala Island or the Brandos.

Thank goodness for travel agent rates!! I look forward to reading about your stay here next year.

Conversation that sounds like a better deal than this:

Clark Griswold: We’d like three tents for the night, please.
Kamp Komfort Clerk: All right. That’ll be thirty-seven dollars.
Clark: Thirty-seven dollars for three tents?
Clerk: Oh, they’re very nice tents, and that price includes scenery & wildlife fun!

      Haha, this is awesome!

It looked like a very exciting property when they announced it a few months ago, but I nearly spilled my coffee when I saw those rates! Especially since you still have to add the nearly additional 20% of taxes in Mexico... Wild! And I'm sure they'll still sell out.

Would be helpful to mention at the start of the post that this is located in Mexico. I like to consider myself well-traveled and knowledgable about the world, but I had no idea where Punta Mita was located until I clicked through the link to Four Seasons' website.

@ reddargon -- Fair point, thank you! Updated the post to reflect that.
