Update: These offers for the Hilton Honors Ascend Card from American Express and The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card have expired. Learn more about the current offers here.

Since mid-May, American Express has been offering increased welcome bonuses on their co-branded Hilton credit cards. If you’ve been considering getting one of these cards but haven’t yet applied, this is one last reminder that you only have a couple of days left to do so, as these bonuses are being pulled on Wednesday, June 27, 2018.

Increased Hilton Amex Card offers

The following cards are offering limited time increased welcome bonuses through June 27, 2018:

What are the perks of these cards?

Let me briefly recap the major perks of these cards. Both the Hilton Honors Ascend Card and Hilton Honors American Express Business Card have $95 annual fees, and offer:

  • Honors Gold status for as long as you have the card
  • Honors Diamond status when you spend $40,000 on the card in a calendar year
  • A free weekend night reward when you spend $15,000 on the card in a calendar year; for the business version of the card, you can get a second weekend night reward when you spend a total of $60,000 in a calendar year

Then for the no annual fee Hilton Honors™ Card from American Express you can expect:

  • Honors Silver status for as long as you have the card
  • Honors Gold status when you spend $20,000 on the card in a calendar year

Another great perk of all of these cards is that they give you access to Amex Offers, which is one of my favorite things about having any American Express card. This gives you access to savings and bonus points opportunities on a variety of purchases, which in many cases more than cover the annual fee on a card.

How many of these Hilton Amex cards can you be approved for?

All of these cards are considered separate products, meaning that you can earn the welcome bonus on each of these cards once.

The major limitation to be aware of is that typically each person is limited to having at most five American Express credit cards at a time. It doesn’t matter whether those are personal or business cards, though it doesn’t include charge cards, like The Business Platinum® Card from American ExpressThe Platinum Card® from American Express, American Express® Business Gold Card, and the American Express® Gold Card.

The last major restriction is that anecdotally you won’t be approved for more than two Amex credit cards in a 90 day period. You can apply for two cards in a day, though there’s a chance one application may be delayed by a bit, and the approval may only come through after a few days. That shouldn’t be a major issue — as long as you apply by the deadline, the bonus should be honored.

Bottom line

The increased welcome bonuses on the Hilton Honors Ascend CardHilton Honors American Express Business Card, and Hilton Honors™ Card from American Express are only valid for another couple of days, and are seriously worth considering. Not only do these cards have great welcome bonuses, but they offer perks that make them worth holding onto long term

If you’re looking for a more premium card, the Hilton Aspire Card is also worth considering, though it doesn’t have an increased welcome bonus at the moment.

  1. Using your site as a tool, I applied for and received the aspire card. I then booked and stayed at the Kyukaruizawa Kikyo, Curio Collection by Hilton in Japan that Hilton purchased and reopened last month (This was a big upgrade from my previous selection before i decided to go for the card). I earned 100,000 credit card bonus. I also earned a base points earning of 14095, Diamond elite bonus of 14095, a 2018 HH2 double points bonus of 14095, A curio bonus of 1000, and a Diamond myway bonus of 1000. All netting 147,285 points earned for 1 stay and my first attempt at collecting larger amounts of points. Thanks for all the advice you have published. I’m looking forward to more of these adventures.

  2. @ Lucky I know this is totally random but I just figured out United has 2x daily flight from Jamestown,ND to Devil’s Lake,ND which is strange given that they are such tiny cities. I just found it interesting.

  3. The day after the promotion “ends”, Amex makes a better offer. Same bonus and benefits with $2000/3 month minimum spend. Too bad I signed up on 6-27.

  4. @ Rhslf — Which card are you talking about? The Ascend Card? If so, the offer isn’t the same. The increased offer came with a free night certificate on the first anniversary with no spend requirement, while the current offer doesn’t. Or is there a different offer I’m not aware of?
