The Blue BusinessSM Plus Credit Card is the single best credit card for the first $50,000 of non-bonused spend every calendar year. Not only that, but the card has no annual fee.
The card has a welcome bonus that’s set to expire tomorrow (Wednesday, September 26, 2018), so if you’re interested in getting this card I’d highly recommend applying today, or otherwise early tomorrow.
At the moment the Blue Business Plus Card is offering a welcome bonus of 10,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $3,000 within three months. That’s not a big welcome bonus, but it’s better than what the public bonus was before (zero!). Like I said, this is a card you get because of how incredibly rewarding it is, and there’s a direct opportunity cost to not having the card, in my opinion.
The card offers 2x Membership Rewards points on the first $50,000 spent every calendar year. I value Membership Rewards points at 1.7 cents each, so to me that’s like a 3.4% return.
Also keep in mind that since this is an Amex small business card, applying for it won’t count as an application towards the 5/24 limit, if that’s something you care about. I also find that Amex business cards are anecdotally among the easiest business cards to be approved for.
If you’ve never applied for an Amex business card before, this is an excellent card to start with. You’re potentially eligible for a business card even if you have a small sole proprietorship, which could include things like having a rental house, doing freelance work, or even selling things on Ebay. For more about how to fill out an Amex business credit card application, see this post.
So yeah, if you don’t yet have the Blue Business Plus Card, there’s no reason to wait. This is an exceptional card that everyone in my family has, and that’s my first go-to card for everyday spend. This is one of the few cards that I think virtually anyone who collects points should have (in the case of some other popular cards I tend to think it depends on circumstances, but this isn’t one of them).
