Last Chance: Get A Welcome Bonus On The Amex Blue Business Plus

Update: This offer for The Blue Business℠ Plus Credit Card from American Express has expired. Learn more about the current offers here.

In the interest of full disclosure, One Mile At A Time earns a referral bonus for anyone that’s approved through some of the below links. These are the best publicly available offers that we have found for each card. Please check out our advertiser policy for further details about the partners we work with. Thanks for your support!

The Blue BusinessSM Plus Credit Card is the single best credit card for the first $50,000 of non-bonused spend every calendar year. Not only that, but the card has no annual fee.

The card has a welcome bonus that’s set to expire tomorrow (Wednesday, September 26, 2018), so if you’re interested in getting this card I’d highly recommend applying today, or otherwise early tomorrow.

At the moment the Blue Business Plus Card is offering a welcome bonus of 10,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $3,000 within three months. That’s not a big welcome bonus, but it’s better than what the public bonus was before (zero!). Like I said, this is a card you get because of how incredibly rewarding it is, and there’s a direct opportunity cost to not having the card, in my opinion.

The card offers 2x Membership Rewards points on the first $50,000 spent every calendar year. I value Membership Rewards points at 1.7 cents each, so to me that’s like a 3.4% return.

Also keep in mind that since this is an Amex small business card, applying for it won’t count as an application towards the 5/24 limit, if that’s something you care about. I also find that Amex business cards are anecdotally among the easiest business cards to be approved for.

If you’ve never applied for an Amex business card before, this is an excellent card to start with. You’re potentially eligible for a business card even if you have a small sole proprietorship, which could include things like having a rental house, doing freelance work, or even selling things on Ebay. For more about how to fill out an Amex business credit card application, see this post.

So yeah, if you don’t yet have the Blue Business Plus Card, there’s no reason to wait. This is an exceptional card that everyone in my family has, and that’s my first go-to card for everyday spend. This is one of the few cards that I think virtually anyone who collects points should have (in the case of some other popular cards I tend to think it depends on circumstances, but this isn’t one of them).

  1. Hello dear readers!!
HOW can I earn MANY MANY miles if I live in EUROPE????? Each time I check the CREDIT CARDS links they say US CITIZEN S ONLY????
    ANY ADVISE FRIENDS??

  2. I’d like this card, but a $5,000 spending requirement on AMEX is not very easy. I can pay rent and electirc bill with visa or MC but they don’t accept AMEX. Too bad this doen’t have a lower spending limit within 90 days or I’d definitely sign up for it.

  3. I got a pop-up that said the following:

“Based on your history with American Express welcome offers, introductory APR offers, or the number of cards you have opened and closed, you are not eligible to receive this welcome offer.

We have not yet performed a credit check. Would you still like to proceed?”

I just cancelled and didn’t sign up. I guess American Express isn’t interested in having me as a customer!

  4. I got the same pop-up that I was not eligible. I have excellent credit, 0 MR cards, 1 other Amex business card (spg) and only 2 other AMEX personal cards. I have zero balances on all of them too. I have a legitimate business and actually need a new business card. Ridiculous.

  5. Ben – the bonus is still available through cardholder’s referral links. So anyone who has the card can refer anyone else and the applicant can still get 10,000 points.
