The IHG® Rewards Club Premier Credit Card is a popular Chase credit card, and right now it’s offering a great bonus and the annual fee waived for the first year.

IHG Premier Card bonus of 150K points

At the moment the IHG Premier Card is offering an excellent welcome bonus of 150,000 IHG Rewards Club points after spending $3,000 within the first three months. On top of that, the card’s $89 annual fee is waived for the first 12 months, which is a great opportunity to try the card before you have to “buy” it, if you will.

Personally I value IHG Rewards Club points at 0.5 cents each, so to me the 150,000 points are worth $750. That’s an excellent bonus, especially with the annual fee waived the first year.

Why you should get the IHG Premier Card

With my hotel strategy, IHG isn’t my primary hotel group, but I still strategically find value with the program. There are many reasons to have the IHG Premier Card, including:

  • IHG Rewards Club Platinum status just for having the card
  • An anniversary free night certificate every year, valid at a property costing up to 40,000 points
  • A fourth night free on award redemptions
  • A Global Entry or TSA Pre-Check credit once every four years

For me the annual free night certificate alone more than justifies the annual fee, and everything else is the icing on the cake.

Bottom line

The IHG Premier Card has a phenomenal welcome bonus of 150,000 IHG Rewards Club points upon completing minimum spending. On top of that, the card’s $89 annual fee is waived for the first year. This is a top notch offer for those who don’t yet have the card.

While I don’t consider the IHG Rewards Club program to be competitive with some other hotel loyalty programs, I find the annual free night certificate, Platinum status, and fourth night free on award redemptions, to more than justify the ongoing $89 annual fee.

Anyone plan on picking up the IHG Premier Card with this great bonus?
