Frequent Traveler University Seattle April 25-27

The next Frequent Traveler University was just announced, and will be held in Seattle April 25-27. For those of you that have never attended Frequent Traveler University, it’s one of the largest “educational” miles & points events, and as of late has been held twice a year (once in the spring and once in the fall).

Speakers for the spring FTU event will include Gary from View from the Wing, Greg from Frequent Miler, Summer from Mommy Points, and many more yet to be announced. But equally (or possibly more) valuable is being able to connect and share tricks with hundreds of like-minded frequent flyers.

I’m quite excited that it will be held in my hometown, though ironically it’s less than two weeks after I’m supposed to move out of Seattle — guess we’ll see how that works out!

Tickets are now on sale for $100 each, which include access to all the events, a welcome reception, and lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Registration this year is capped at 400 people, which is lower than in the past. There’s also a $99/night group rate available at the Marriott Seattle Airport, which will be the host hotel.

I hope to see lots of you there! Assuming my favorite bubble tea place reopens by then (which it should), I may even host some bubble tea excursions. šŸ˜‰

  1. Any hope for a New York area event? Also any hope for a Sunday/Monday event where Monday is a legal holiday? That would be perfect for me as well as other Sabbath observers

  2. Just booked the hotel as well! Looking forward to the bubble tea excursions… oh and the conference itself too! šŸ˜‰

  3. My first as well. From Seattle so it makes is easier, I suppose šŸ™‚ For people who lived locally in the past, anyone just go home each night?

  4. Never attended FTU before so got a ticket and Marriott hotel reservation (too bad there’s no Starwood airport hotel though).

Not 100% sure I will be able to attend but what the heck šŸ™‚

  5. @ Brian — There’ no legal holiday that particular Monday. Leah was just wishing for a FTU event that would be scheduled Sunday & Monday where that particular Monday is a legal holiday (e.g. Labor Day).

  6. I thought the main criteria for choosing FTU location was availability of Vanilla Reloads in the vicinity. How could you have chosen Seattle in this case šŸ™‚

  7. I’ll have to wait for the fall FTU – we’ll be in Italy on the tail end of a US N Asia award that weekend.

  8. This is a great hotel for a conferenceā€¦..hosted one years ago for 54 marketing NCOs from the National Guard where we gave them all a $6,000 laptop and the training to go with itā€¦ā€¦ā€¦I’m hopeful FTU will be giving out iPads this conference? Also, bringing my wife as she is now in FTU training phase, shopping portal and CVS VR trainingā€¦ā€¦ā€¦…

  9. Don’t forget to have non Marriott card holders go to Staples for $200 in Marriott gift cards so they earn 1000 for payment of the hotel rather than 200 or 400ā€¦ā€¦ā€¦ā€¦just sayingā€¦ā€¦.

  10. @ Deb — The schedule hasn’t been published yet. There are typically only a handful of sessions about credit cards, and since there are usually at least two options per session, you should be able to avoid it entirely.

  11. Have 1 ticket available for transfer — $75 obo + $15 transfer fee. Also have a cash + points booking at the Hilton if needed.
