I just love reading breakfast travel posts. It's like I'm an extraterrestrial visitor studying Earth. I'm rarely at hotels than offer breakfast paid or not. I decline the €17 continental breakfasts in France, when I can get a €1 pastry at the grocery store (as close as I come to having breakfast). And, I have maybe 16 weeks at a hotel over the last 4 years that offers a decent looking breakfast buffet gratis, with me having zero breakfasts there. I'm not substituting my preferences for others. I'm just amazed at how important free breakfast is to some here.

One small supplement to this post: The Laurel Inn in San Francisco technically doesn't provide breakfast, but they have been providing Globalists with a daily voucher (for two people) to Wise Sons, which is a bagel shop across the street. The voucher is good for one breakfast bagel sandwich, one coffee/tea and one juice. We've stayed at the Laurel Inn as Globalists multiple times over the past few years and have always received this breakfast benefit. I very much appreciate that they provide the benefit even if it's not required, and the breakfast at Wise Sons is at least as good as the breakfast provided at many mid-tier Hyatts.
