For several months now, the CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Mastercard® has been offering a welcome bonus of 60,000 miles after spending $3,000 within three months.

The card has a reasonable $99 annual fee that’s even waived for the first 12 months.

Personally I value American miles at 1.3 cents each, so to me those 60,000 miles are worth $780.

60,000 miles is a huge welcome bonus, and those miles are enough for a one-way business class ticket from the US to Europe, South America, North Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and India, so there are so many great ways you can redeem those miles.

I picked up the CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Mastercard® earlier this year, and the miles quickly posted. Ford and my mom picked up the card as well, and their miles also posted. For more on getting approved for a Citi business card, see this post.

Anyway, if you haven’t yet applied for this card, I’d highly recommend doing so. You can actually get approved for two Citi cards in one day (one personal and one business), so I think a great strategy would be to apply for this card and the Citi Premier℠ Card on the same day.

While I consider the CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World Mastercard® to be the best of the AAdvantage offers, there are several other great welcome bonuses on American Airlines credit cards, including the following:

Comments
  1. Does their “no bonus in 24 months if you have opened or closed a card in a similar points category” apply to the business card as well?

  2. @ James K — The business cards are considered separately from the personal cards. So if you’ve opened a personal card in that timeframe you’re fine, but you can’t have opened this business card in that timeframe.
