Earn 10% Cash Back With Choice & IHG Hotels

In the interest of full disclosure, One Mile At A Time earns a referral bonus for purchases made through some of the below links. These are products and services we use ourselves, and are the best offers we know of. Check out our Advertising Policy for further details. Thanks for your support!

Shopping portals can be a great way to earn cash back for purchases you’d make anyway. While shopping portals offer bonuses for all kinds of retailers, sometimes they even offer bonuses for airlines and hotels.

Yesterday I wrote about how Ebates is offering 10% cash back for Marriott stays. That’s still available as of now, though I imagine it will be pulled soon, as the promotion seems to return every so often for a brief period.

Now there’s an opportunity to get 10% cash back with Choice and IHG. TopCashback is offering 10% cash back for Choice Hotels and IHG Hotels bookings. It looks to me like this promotion is just available for three days, so if you’re interested I’d recommend booking ASAP.

TopCashback simply redirects you to the websites of Choice and IHG, so you’d be eligible to earn points and receive elite benefits as usual. If you’re not yet a TopCashback member, you can register here in just a minute.

As you’d expect, there are terms associated with this.

Here are the terms for the Choice promotion (I’m sharing them in their entirety, to be thorough):

  • Using a promotional/coupon code not posted and approved by TopCashback. If you use a code that we have not provided you with then there is a strong chance that your cashback will be declined or go untracked to your account.
  • Commission will only be paid on completed stays at Choice Hotels properties in the continental United States, Hawaii, Alaska and Caribbean. The following rates on ChoiceHotels.com are non-commissionable: Employee, friends & family rates, CP Reward night redemption, FIT, Net VIP/Preferred rates, bookings made through a Third Party Wholesale partner (i.e. group rates, employee travel sites, Expedia, Hotels.com, booking.com).
  • Travel agent booking are not eligible for cash back.

Here are the terms for the IHG promotion:

  • Using a promotional/coupon code not posted and approved by TopCashback. If you use a code that we have not provided you with then there is a strong chance that your cashback will be declined or go untracked to your account.
  • Kimpton US Properties are not eligible for cash back.
  • Non-commissionable rates listed below:
    • Rooms offered at specialty or pre-negotiated rates (including discounted group rates)
    • Rooms rates in which the customer is required to be affiliated with or employed by a particular company or organization in order to receive the rate
    • IHG Friends & Family or Employee discount rates
    • Rooms that are booked and paid for using IHG Rewards Club points (including points+cash bookings)
  • Rooms offered at specialty or pre-negotiated rates (including discounted group rates). Rooms rates in which the customer is required to be affiliated with or employed by a particular company or organization in order to receive the rate. IHG Friends & Family or Employee discount rates. Rooms that are booked and paid for using IHG Rewards Club points (including points + cash bookings).
  • Any changes made to the reservation will decline your cash back.
  • Any changes made to a reservation (that originated via web) at the hotel cannot be tracked and are therefore ineligible for cash back.
  • Cash back is not paid on the purchase of IHG points.

Bottom line

Being able to earn 10% cash back on hotel stays is an excellent deal. Just make sure you’re aware of the restrictions in the T&Cs. You can always book (or rebook) stays now and then later decide to cancel if needed (assuming you’re booking refundable rates), because the 10% cash back probably won’t last long.

  1. Thanks, Lucky. I just used your referral link, got $10 for myself, and booked holiday inn Oaxaca for july 4th weekend. Woohoo!

  2. That sounds like a supreme buck up deal. Too bad I’m not a part of that affiliate program so I can promote it and learn top dollar affiliate commissions.

  3. Ben, any experience or insight as to what it’s like to use topcashback for miles sales via points dot com?

  4. Topcashback was offering 8% back just last week, I imagine it’s their regular deal.

I’ve made a bunch of flexible bookings at that time, I’ll rebook with the new deal to get 2% more.
