October has been an exciting month for the Amex Centurion Lounge network. Earlier this month the Amex Centurion Lounge Hong Kong opened, and we received word that the Centurion Lounge Philadelphia would be opening by late October, though no specific date had been given.

There’s some good news on that front. October doesn’t get any later than the 31st, and sure enough, the Amex Centurion Lounge Philadelphia is open as of this today. The lounge will be open daily from 5AM until 9PM, and is located in Terminal A West, near gate A14.
While I’m not sure if they’re doing this with the Philadelphia lounge, historically Amex has offered small gifts for those who are among the first visitors, while supplies last. If you happen to be passing through Philadelphia Airport in the coming days, it could pay to stop by the lounge.
Here’s what you can expect from this roughly 6,300 square foot lounge:
- An Israeli-inspired food menu designed by four-time James Beard Award winning Israeli Cuisine Pioneer, Chef Michael Solomonov
- A complimentary full bar with custom cocktails created by renowned mixologist Jim Meehan and wine selections handpicked by renowned wine authority Anthony Giglio*
- Floor-to-ceiling windows with expansive internal and external views
- Essentials for business and leisure travelers alike, including dedicated workspaces, power outlets, private phone areas, comfortable seating and access to high-speed Wi-Fi
As a reminder, Centurion Lounges can be accessed by those with The Platinum Card® from American Express and The Business Platinum Card® from American Express. Each cardmember can take in two guests, and this benefit is one of my favorite perks of the card.
The Centurion Lounge Philadelphia complements Amex’s existing US lounge portfolio, which includes locations in Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, New York, San Francisco, and Seattle.
Do you have plans to visit the Amex Centurion Lounge PHL anytime soon?
It’s above the BA and I wouldn’t consider it a “hike” by any means domestic or not.
My wife and I will be canceling our Citi Exec and dropping Admirals club access and it’s mediocre presentation in favor of these lounges as it works for our PHL-based biz travel.
Monday will be my first visit to the new lounge.

@jasdou yes you should be able to access it on arrival on an inbound flight. All you need is a same-day boarding pass.
@Lester, yes you'll be able to get there without leaving security. It's a bit of a hike, probably 8-10 minutes, but there are some moving sidewalks.

I’ll be in PHL on Saturday but on a domestic United flight in a different terminal. Will I be able to access the club?
I love the food at Zahav, but reading the comments on other boards, there is so much hatred of Israeli cuisine.
I guess people want stale pretzels and wasabi peas and bad salsa with stale chips. Whatever.

Can this lounge be accessed as an arrivals lounge? Or does one need an outbound boarding pass to get in?
